Hometown Pride Abounds At Amagansett Fire Department Inspection Dinner: Photos
Heroes were lauded for their selfless dedication and courage in Amagansett.
AMAGANSETT, NY — Pride filled the air Friday evening at the Devon Yacht Club as the Amagansett Fire Department Chiefs hosted the AFD's Annual Inspection Dinner and presented awards for outstanding achievement in 2016.
Chief John Glennon, 1st Assistant Chief William Beckert, and 2nd Assistant Chief Tedd Page thanked Members and their families and friends for another great year of heroic service to the community.
Award recipients included, for length of service, Joseph LaCarrubba, 65 years, Martin Mahar, 35 years, Scott Bennett, 30 years, Michael Cinque, 30 years, Kent Howie, 25 years, Patrick J. Cantwell, 25 years, Mary Eames and Neal Martin, 25 years, Todd Fagerland and Richard Webb, 20 years, Debbie A. Disunno, 15 years, and Stephen Gauger, 5 years.

For number of ambulance calls, recipients included Thomas Field, 5,000 calls, Peter Gundersen, 1,500 calls, Chris Beckert, 500 calls, Joseph Karpinski, 500 calls, Laura Gundersen and John Brown, 250 calls.
Awarded the Fireman of the Year designation was Chris Beckert, and Laura Gundersen was EMS Person of the Year.

The coveted Chief's Award went to Stephen Gauger.
