Julianne Moore Chooses ARF For Academy Awards Donation

The actress donated over $5,000 worth of food to the local shelter.

The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF) recently received a donation of 10,000 pet meals (2,500 pounds) from Halo, Purely for Pets, at the request of Academy Award winning actress Julianne Moore.

The donation, worth a total of $5,100, is a result of this spring’s Academy Awards.

Each nominated actor and actress in the top categories received a gift certificate from Halo for a 10,000 meal donation to the shelter or rescue of their choice.

ARF has chosen to use the 2,500 pounds of kibble for the Operation Cat (Op Cat) Program, the most successful TNR (trap/neuter/release) Program on the East End.

In addition to spaying and neutering community cats from Brookhaven Township to Montauk, our Op Cat Program also provides free food to those volunteers who care for the large colonies of these community cats.

The grant is part of a unique partnership between GreaterGood.org, FreeKibble.com, and HALO to help alleviate the burden of feeding homeless animals.
