Legislator Fleming to Host Roundtables, Help Businesses 'Chart Their Course'

Bridget Fleming has partnered with town officials for the roundtables.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Suffolk County Legislator Bridget Fleming will kick start a dialogue with local business owners and help them to garner information about county resources.

Fleming will host roundtables in both East Hampton and Westhampton aimed at helping businesses to "Chart Their Course".

To that end, Fleming has partnered with East Hampton Town Supervisor Larry Cantwell, Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman, and Westhampton Beach Mayor Maria Moore.

The goal is to bring county representatives directly to the businesses in their districts.

“Charting the Course II — Local Government as Your Partner” is a series of events that will give local business owners the opportunity to get information on county resources that can help their businesses thrive, a release from Fleming's office said.

The series will target a local community in Suffolk County for the first time, in the second legislative district, the release added.

The goal of the event is to help advise business organizations critical to the economy, as well as to gain a better understanding of the needs of business owners, so that the county can serve them better.

County agencies and town representatives will serve on the panel.

The meetings will commence with two Town Hall type panels; the first will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Rechler Equity Partners in the Hampton Business District building on County Road 31 in Westhampton, near the entrance to Gabreski Airport.

“This event is an excellent resource for East End businesses,” Fleming said. “Town and county representatives with knowledge about real issues that affect the district, such as sanitation, transportation and tick-borne illness will be present to inform community members about valuable resources that their local governments have to offer and to answer questions.”

Fleming will be joined by Southampton Town Deputy Supervisor Frank Zappone and Westhampton Beach Mayor Maria Moore.

The second panel begins at 2 p.m. Monday at LTV Studio 3, located at 75 Industrial Road in Wainscott.

Fleming will be joined there by East Hampton Town Supervisor Larry Cantwell.

“This is an excellent opportunity for businesses and residents to communicate directly with county officials about the local economy," Cantwell added.

The event is free.

Residents, business owners, and Chambers of Commerce members are welcome to attend.
