A local student at Ross School in East Hampton recently started a charitable initiative as part of her Senior Project.
For her project, Dillon Kab started Connecs LLC , a business that creates fundraising programs for non-profits and charities.
While she started the program for school, she plans to continue the business after she graduates.

“Growing up with two parents who are entrepreneurs I find the business world fascinating, exciting, and inviting,” Kab said. “I decided to start my first company in support of a worthy cause and I wanted to contribute and make a difference with my work. My family has been involved with charitable organizations and I felt compelled to combine my business skills with some of the charities that are close to my heart.”
Her first program, “Ties for a Cure,” sells ties to benefit the Max Cure foundation, which supports low income and military families with a child battling cancer at the Stony Brook Pediatric Cancer Center.

The ties sell for $40 and 85% of the gross revenue, $34, go towards the foundation.
Her initial goal is to raise a total of $40,000 and she has already sent the first monthly check for $2,000.
The support was typically received in the form of gift cards so the families can buy food and clothing.
So far, Kab has received 2,000 ties from two designers, and she’ll be reaching out to other companies as her sales grow.
Currently, they are sold in two stores in Southampton; Therapy Life and Style on 38 Main Street and 27 Hampton Salon on 27 Hampton Road, as well as online.
She has been Student Government Class President throughout high school, is a varsity volleyball player, and has played soccer for LIJSL club for 13 seasons.
She is also a model for IMG and lives with her parents, Vyto, a former NFL player, and her mother Patricia in Southampton.
