Long Island Bus Riders Union Members Riding Buses From Queens To East Hampton

The members began their journey today and are expected to arrive at the East Hampton LIRR station tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.

The Long Island Bus Riders Union began β€œRate the Ride” event on Wednesday and will end up at the East Hampton Long Island Railroad Station on Thursday at 12:15 p.m.

Several BRU members will be traveling from Jamaica, Queens to both North and South forks of Long Island using only Nassau and Suffolk County buses.

β€œOur purpose is to demonstrate the importance of Long Island’s public transportation system while bringing attention to the most common concerns and struggles that bus riders are facing, many of which include late or no-show buses,” the BRU website reads.

They began Parsons-Archer Avenue stop, boarding the 6:30 a.m. N4 and will be finishing at East Hampton Long Island Railroad Station, disembarking from the 12:30 p.m. S92.

There will be a small celebratory action at the East Hampton Long Island Railroad Station after the event.
