Looking Back at Great Yankee Pitcher

In 1982 -83, I had the wonderful opportunity to represent the New York Yankee Pitcher Ron Guidry.

In 1982, I was retained to do public relations for the great New York Yankee pitcher, Ron Guidry. I often got to go to the Yankee Club House and meet other team members. One day, I brought my fifteen-year-old son along; but he was not permitted in the club house because he was under the age of eighteen. Ron saw how deeply disappointed he was; and so when we finished our meeting, Ron accompanied me back to my son. There, Ron presented my son with a baseball autographed by each of the Yankee players. It made my son’s day. His gratitude knew no bounds. I have never met a nicer professional athlete. In addition, he was a superb amateur chess player, reportedly one of the best in Louisiana!
