Man Busted for Driving Drunk in East Hampton: Police

EAST HAMPTON, NY — An East Hampton man was charged with driving drunk on Springs Fireplace Road, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Wilmer Valladarez-Valladares, 24, was arrested on August 18 at 1 a.m. near the intersection of Woodbine Drive after he was seen unable to maintain his lane of travel.

Upon investigation, police said Valladerez-Valladares had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. He performed poorly on all standardized sobriety tests administered, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, police said. Cash bail was set at $500, police said.
