Man Charged With DWI After Crash: Police

Injuries were reported, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A Huntington man was charged with driving drunk and crashing his car, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, James B. Walker, 41, was arrested on Sept. 25 at 11:50 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, after he drove a 2016 Jeep west on New York State Route 27 near Navahoe Road in East Hampton and was involved in a crash with injuries.

An investigation revealed he had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet, and failed standardized field sobriety tests administered, police said.

He was released on his own recognizance, police said.
