Nor'easter Preparations Underway In East Hampton As Countdown Continues Toward Storm's Impact (patch.com) — East Hampton officials are mobilizing crews, clearing drains, and coordinating emergency plans as a nor'easter is forecast to impact the town and eastern Long Island from Friday through Sunday. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, avoid dangerous surf and flooded roads, and report power outages and downed lines directly to PSEG Long Island or local police as appropriate.
   

2. L.V.I.S. Will Plant 30 Trees in Herrick Park (easthamptonstar.com) — Herrick Park in East Hampton Village is set to get more than 30 new trees, after Mayor Jerry Larsen accepted a fully funded beautification proposal from the Ladies Village Improvement Society. Cherry trees, gingkoes, and specimen trees like Japanese maple and dawn redwood will line key walkways, adding shade, color, and a more welcoming entrance starting as early as this month.
   

3. On Bond Projects and BESS Evacuation Plan (easthamptonstar.com) — East Hampton families are getting new details on both school safety and major campus upgrades, as the school board refines evacuation plans for the Cove Hollow Road battery facility and advances $128 million in voter-approved bond projects. Leaders are coordinating with village and town officials on moving 2,000 students in an emergency, while also pushing ahead with a new turf field, track resurfacing, and security and building improvements.

Sag Harbor's Competing Sunday Vigils Are a Microcosm of Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (danspapers.com) — Weekly dueling vigils in nearby Sag Harbor are drawing East Hampton residents into a very local version of the Israeli‑Palestinian debate, with pro‑Israel and pro‑Palestinian groups facing off across Long Wharf.
