Photos: Rare Look At Young Jackie Kennedy, One Of New Exhibits Unveiled In East Hampton
One exhibits features a rare look at Jacqueline Kennedy's earliest memories on the South Fork.
EAST HAMPTON, NY — It was a rare glimpse into the East Hampton of yesterday on Friday evening, as the East Hampton Historical Society held simultaneous openings of two new exhibits at its Clinton Academy.
According to Executive Director Jill Malusky, "Young Jackie on the South Fork", on view on the main floor of Clinton Academy, gives guests a window into the world of young Jackie Bouvier Kennedy, who spent her childhood summers on the South Fork.
The riveting photos are captured through the lens of society photographer Bert Morgan, who documented many of her social pastimes in the area, including horse riding competitions and community events.

On view on the second floor is "Caught in a Flash: Press Photographs of East Hamptoners 1930-1950." Photos of the same era, showing many other local residents and summer visitors enjoying many of the same events as Jackie Bouvier — and traditions and locations still beloved today, including Main Beach, the Ladies Village Improvement Society Fair, the Maidstone, and more.
Both shows are on view at the Clinton Academy from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays through October 8.
