Photos: East Hampton Lions Club Donates Funds To Help Blind

Lions Club members are "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness."

EAST HAMPTON, NY — It was a night of inspiration on Thursday at Harbor Grill in East Hampton, as the East Hampton Lions Club was honored to have Marsha Wynter, coordinator of the Long Island Eye Bank, attend their meeting.

In 1925, Helen Keller addressed the Lions Club International Convention, where she challenged Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness."

It is in that spirit that the Long Island Eye Bank provides sight to those in need locally, through its Organ Donor Program.
