Photos: Gala Celebrates 15 Years Of Giving Cancer Patients A 'Fighting Chance'

A highlight was the presentation of Fighting Chance's "Medal of Honor 2017" to the Hampton Jitney, which provides rides to cancer patients.

SAG HARBOR, NY — Friends and supporters of Fighting Chance of Sag Harbor gathered Saturday night to celebrate the organization's 15 years of providing free counseling to patients who need to cope with the "shell shock" that accompanies a cancer diagnosis.

The highlight of the gala was the presentation of Fighting Chance's "Medal of Honor 2017" to the Hampton Jitney.

The award was presented by Fighting Chance's founder and chairman Duncan Darrow to Hampton Jitney President Geoff Lynch for establishing its "Cancer Patients Ride Free" program, which has already provided more than 2,000 free Jitney rides for East End cancer patients traveling to New York City cancer centers for treatment.
