Photos: Kids Embrace Culinary Fun During Farm Fresh Cooking Series

The Wellness Foundation and Amber Waves Farms have teamed up to offer cooking fun for kids.

AMAGANSETT, NY — Kids have been cooking up fun during the Farm Fresh Cooking Series, the latest collaboration between the non-profit organizations Wellness Foundation of Sag Harbor and Amber Waves Farm of Amagansett.

The interactive sessions have included harvesting ingredients right from the field and learning simple techniques for cooking up delicious, healthy meals with Amber Waves Farm produce.

This past week, Chef Christina Cassel, also a certified culinary arts instructor, showed the children how to make spring rolls packed with fresh veggies and ended the class with an all-fruit sorbet that had everyone asking for more.

The sessions are great opportunities for children and parents to learn together. In addition to useful tips and easy-to-implement strategies, participants also get to enjoy delicious, healthy dishes and take home recipes.

The summer’s final session will be held at Amber Waves Farm on Tuesday, July 18, from 11 a.m. to noon.
