The Pet Philanthropy Circle, a non-profit based in Water Mill, recently hosted their national 2015 Pet Hero Award Winners.
The awards were given out at the fourth annual ceremony at the Manhattan Penthouse on Friday, Oct. 30th.

The popular event had honorees and guests flying in from all over the country to attend this celebration of the country’s most notable animal advocates.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dr. Neal Barnard who has spent the past 30 years working to replace animal testing and experimentation.

The Humanitarian of the Year went to Kristy Hinze-Clark and her husband, founder of Netscape, Jim Clark, for their work to defend both animal and aquatic life.
The Mayor’s Alliance of NYC received the 2015 Outstanding Rescue Organization Award. Their efforts have saved over 250,000 animals and their van has transported more than 85,000 adoptable pets “to the People” in New York City neighborhoods.
The 2015 Animal Advocate Award went to Candy Udell, Founder of the Rescue Paw Foundation and President of London Jewelers who supports numerous local and national organizations who rescue hundreds of animals each year.
This year’s Animal Health award goes went to the Animal Cancer Foundation, the leading philanthropic organization committed to funding and accelerating comparative oncology research.
St. Francis Farm established by Founder Whitney Knowlton of Last Chance Animal Rescue, received the Outstanding Sanctuary Award.
The Veterinarian of the Year Award was presented to Dr. Marty Goldstein, a nationally recognized proponent of alternative cures for animals.
Found Animals Foundation received the Foundation of the Year award. The foundation, started in 2005 by Dr. Gary Michelson, provides funding for the research of nonsurgical sterlization technology, low-cost spay and neuter initiatives, and finding homes for over 15,000 shelter animals.
This Year’s Outstanding Pet Award went to Brock, a Doberman Pinscher, who inspired the formation of Pilots N Paws, an organization of 5,500 pilots and over 260,000 Facebook fans that has saved more than 75,000 lives with rescue flights.
Among those who attend the event included: Dorothy and Bill Berloni (Dog Trainer of the Year); PPC supporter Robert Morris; PPC Founder and President Jewel Morris, Debra Halpert, David Greenberg; Jewel Morris, Actor and Founder of Kids Against Animal Cruelty Lou Wegner; Whitney Knowlton (Founder and Director of Last Chance Animal Rescue, recipient of Outstanding Sanctuary Award); Dr. Marty Goldstein (Outstanding Veterinarian Award); Sony Schotland, Jill Rappaport, Lorenzo Borghese, Jean Shafiroff, Dr. Gerald Post; Bocker and Marie Shelto (London Jewelers co-owners); and Mark and Candy Udell, Animal Advocate of the Year Award winner, (all pictured below).
