Supporters have a cocktail party at the estate of Emil and Jody Henry.
Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney and his wife Ann were guests of Emil and Jody Henry over Labor Day weekend at the Henrys' East Hampton home on Further Lane. Emil Henry is a former assistant secretary for financial institutions of the U.S. Treasury Department under the George W. Bush administration. The cocktail party, held on Saturday, had originally been scheduled for the weekend that Hurricane Irene hit the Hamptons and sent the campaign staff scrambling to find time on Romney's schedule to come back. Local political figures in attendance included East Hampton Town Supervisor Bill Wilkinson, Town Republican Chairwoman Trace Duryea and congressional candidate Randy Altschuler.
