Photos: 'Sacred Threads' Exhibit in East Hampton Showcases Ecclesiastical Masterpieces
The collection, which includes pieces from the 14th to 18th centuries, is on display for the first time.

EAST HAMPTON, NY -St. Luke's Episcopal Church in East Hampton was transformed into a museum Saturday.
Textile and vestment collector and maven Jill Lasersohn of East Hampton chose the church as the venue to exhibit "Sacred Threads," her collection of ecclesiastical masterpieces from the 14th to 18th centuries for the first time in public.

The exhibit, which run until May 30, will benefit community outreach organizations East Hampton Meals on Wheels, The Retreat, Maureen's Haven, East End Hospice, St. Luke's Brown Bag Lunch and Laundry Love.
Guests at a reception Saturday to benefit those local charities included religious leaders, museum antiquities experts, history enthusiasts, local supporters of cultural events, and members of the team who produced the unique exhibition.
