Police: 83-Year-Old Woman Arrested For Stealing Items From Waldbaum's in East Hampton
The arrest was made last Tuesday morning.

An 83-year old East Hampton woman was arrested for stealing several items from an East Hampton Waldbaumβs last Tuesday morning, according to East Hampton Village Police.
While on routine patrol, an officer saw a car exiting the Waldbaumβs parking lot onto Newtown Lane and what appeared to be a person trying to stop the car, police said.

The officer was able to catch up to the car on North Main Street where the car was clocked driving 45 mph in a 30 mph speed zone, police said.
Meanwhile, another officer responded to the Waldbaumβs and spoke to the manager who claims the woman stole several items from the store, police said.

The woman was then arrested for petty larceny and speeding and transported to East Hampton Village Police Department for processing, police said.
She was released on her own recognize and is to return to court on March 25.
