Project MOST Kicks Off Crowdfunding to Provide Kids Summer Learning Program
A fundraiser will also be held Friday night to benefit Project MOST.

East Hampton, NY- Caring residents are coming together to ensure all children have a summer filled with learning and fun.
East Hampton’s Project MOST is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization, “committed to turning non-school hours into learning hours encouraging natural curiosity. Our goal is to open our children’s eyes to the world and help them find their place in it,” according to the group’s mission statement. The popular after-school program serves a diverse population and helps give children a place to grow and learn.
And now, the group has turned to crowdfunding to help support Project MOST’s iGrow Summer Learning Program, which will will provide 60 at-risk children with opportunities to inspire healthy living and good food choices close to home on the East End.

The program is aimed at kids ages 8-13, who are often home alone during the summer while their parents work. The program seeks to changes those circumstances, providing experiences that will positively impact them and their families.
Alongside counselors and teachers, children will work hands-on with local farmers, chefs, fishermen and scientists among others. They’ll grow, harvest and cook their own food —and they’ll learn about giving back to their community, a release about the program stated.

Goodcircle is an online page that connects business and individuals to raise funding for non-profit organizations. To date, the Project MOST “Give A Kid A Summer” page has raised $950 of its $38,500 goal.

The Kate W. Cassidy Foundation has also donated to support the program.
“Together, we have a chance to really change lives,” the release said.
In addition, a fundraiser will be held Friday night at 8 p.m., “Songwriter Share 2016,” featuring Inda Eaton in concert, hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse, located at 977 Sag Harbor Turnpike in Bridgehampton. Tickets cost $15. For additional information, click here.
