Woman Pleads For Help for Dog, Seriously Injured Saturday
Maci's medical expenses must be paid upfront before her surgery; donations are desperately needed, her owner says.

SHELTER ISLAND HEIGHTS, NY — A local woman is pleading for help for her dog, who was seriously hurt and needs immediate surgery.
Kaitlin McElroy of Shelter Island Heights created a GoFundMe page, "Help For Maci Lynn", which has raised $25 of its $8.500 goal so far.
"Maci was impaled by a stick early this morning, going straight through her body. Her medical expenses need to be paid upfront and she is in need of emergency surgery," McElroy wrote. "She is our baby girl, whom we love with all of our heart. She is a vibrant and beautiful baby, full of so much life and love. We are sincerely appreciative of whatever you can donate to help save Maci Lynn."
