The grant award will go towards the purchase of garden tools, supplies and materials for the 2014-2015 school year.
The school’s greenhouse committee, comprised of CCOM, parents, and teachers has created a short list of items to purchase which will aid in the maintenance of the greenhouse program and the outdoor garden.

Slow Food East End also funds three master farmer interns who work with schools on the North and South Forks affiliated with the Edible School Gardens.
The Montauk School worked with Sylvia Channing to help develop garden-related curriculum and to help institute a program for the students in grades 3 and 5 to use a newly donated composter, dubbed “Cranky” as part of their science learning.
Begun last year, the greenhouse-based program at the Montauk school is growing in exciting new directions, and CCOM and the school are very grateful to Slow Food East End and the Josh Levine Memorial Foundation for its support.
