Volunteers Needed for 35th Annual Fall Family Festival in Montauk
The popular event unfolds on October 8 and 9.
EAST HAMPTON, NY — A popular fundraising event that epitomizes the best of small town values and hometown fun needs volunteers to join the festivities.
According to a release from the Montauk Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the event, volunteers are needed for the 35th Annual Fall Family Festival, held Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8 and 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Village Green in the heart of Montauk.
"The festival gets underway with the Chowder Tasting Contest on Saturday at 10 a.m. until the soups run out," a release stated.

"Volunteering for the festival is a great way to have fun while serving the community — all for a good cause,” said Laraine Creegan, the Chamber’s executive director.
Volunteers, both adults and teens, will help to coordinate or oversee kids' events including pumpkin decorating and crab races on both days, ladle chowder, on Saturday only, help out in the food tent on both days, and pitch in where needed for set up and break down, a release said.

The popular, family friendly festival includes a carousel, inflatable rides, face painting, pumpkin decorating, street painting on Sunday, Saturday live music with Hopefully Forgiven, Oktoberfest-style food, wine and beer tasting for adults.
Hampton Jitney will provide free local, intra-town service to help people get to and from the Festival on October 8 and 9. Service will be available at the Jitney's Southampton, Bridgehampton, East Hampton, Amagansett and Montauk stop locations. Reservations are required; to make a reservation, call 631-283-4600.
