Fair Media Council Connection Day Oct. 23 is largest conference in U.S. to bring media & community together. Be there to be heard.

Giving Long Island a voice for more than 30 years, the Fair Media Councilβs Connection Day continues that strong tradition on Oct. 23, 2015 β but this year, thereβs a new twist. The first-ever Long Island-New York media summit is part of the daylong conference.
βLong Island has special needs,β said Jaci Clement, CEO and Executive Director of the Fair Media Council. βOne of its most pressing needs is to have its voice heard, especially beyond the borders of Long Island so the decision makers in Albany and Washington, D.C., know what this community needs and wants. Thatβs what Connection Day is all about, and itβs why we bring media from throughout the New York metro area to Long Island, to get to know the issues, meet the people who live and work here and can serve as expert sources in the news process, and ultimately, impact news coverage and encourage more coverage.β
She added, βPeople end up in the news simply because they were at Connection Day.β
