Thiele Sweeps Race for 1st State Assembly District, Unofficial Results Indicate

Fred Thiele has won the race for the New York State's 1st Assembly District.

Incumbent Fred Thiele, a Democrat, has bested his challenger, Republican Heather Collins in the race, according to unofficial results from the Suffolk Board of Elections.

With almost all districts reporting, Thiele leads by a margin of 61.4 percent to 38.56 percent of the vote, garnered by Collins.
