Woman Charged With Driving On Drugs in East Hampton: Police

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A Mount Sinai woman was cuffed after she was caught driving on drugs in East Hampton, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Coleen DelValle, 52, of Mount Sinai, was arrested on October 17 at 8:25 p.m. on Cedar Street and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after she was found with two, round, blue-colored pills; unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation; possession of a controlled substance in a non-original container, a violation; and operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, first offense, a misdemeanor.
DelValle, police said, was driving a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta east on Cedar Street while impaired by drugs; she failed to keep right and the driver's side tires crossed over the double yellow pavement lines. The vehicle had a license plate light out, police said.

Upon investigation, police said there was the strong odor of marijuana emanating from the driver's side window; DelValle, police said, was unsteady on her feet, had poor coordination, constricted pupils, and body tremors, and she displayed an inability to focus, authorities said. She performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests administered, police said.
She was released on her own recognizance, police said.
