Georgia Man Arrested For Driving Wrong Way While Drunk: Police
Police say they stopped him driving west in the eastbound lanes of Hempstead Turnpike.

A Georgia man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated early Saturday morning after police say they stopped him driving the wrong way on Hempstead Turnpike.
According to police, a Highway Patrol officer saw Kip T. Hodge, 50, of Conyers, Georgia, driving a 2017 ford west in the eastbound lanes of Hempstead Turnpike, near Meadowbrook Avenue in East Meadow, at 3:28 a.m.
The officer stopped Hodge and determined that he was driving drunk. he was placed under arrest without incident. No one was injured.

Hodge is charged with driving while intoxicated, second-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. he is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday.
