Local Attorney is Honored by Long Island Business News

Dana Walsh Sivak is an exceptional attorney, dedicated to cutting-edge areas of the law and a true thought leader beyond her years.

Levittown resident Dana Walsh Sivak was honored by the Long Island Business News at the 40 Under 40 event. Dana is a senior associate attorney at Cona Elder Law in Melville – one of Long Island’s most successful and highly regarded law firms. She concentrates her practice in health care reimbursement and recovery, devoting her time to litigation, guardianships, complex Medicaid eligibility issues, PRUCOL matters, HMO/Private insurance coverage issues, contract review, Article 78 proceedings, Fair Hearings and other matters related to health care facility residents’ financial accounts. She represents private clients in contested guardianships, long term care claims and appeals, and Medicaid appeals/fair hearings.

Dana has been included in “Who’s Who in Healthcare Law,” selected as “One to Watch: Law,” earned a CALI Award for Excellence, St. John’s University School of Law Pro Bono Gold Service Award, and the St. Vincent de Paul Legal Program Award. To round it off, she is a skilled networker and mentor who has ingratiated herself to Long Island’s business community through her involvement in multiple groups – most notably her inclusion in the hyper-selective Mentoring Circles program through St. John’s Law School Alumni Leadership Council.

She leads Cona Elder Law's Cannabis Compliance Group related to health care facilities and her expertise regarding cutting-edge issues in that emerging industry is unmatched. She has established herself as a thought leader on a broad range of topics ranging from “Aging and Cannabis” to “Sexual Expression Among Nursing Home Residents.”

As if all that is not enough, Dana tirelessly volunteers her time to supporting impacted families and fundraising for the NICU at North Shore University Hospital; something she has done since her own daughter spent a month in that unit after being born prematurely in 2015.
