A Brooklyn man was arrested on Saturday after police said he led officers on a chase to escape arrest and had a loaded gun in his car.

According to police, Jonathan Boyea, 28, of Lenox Road, Brooklyn, was seen by officers driving a black Nissan Altima with a broken tail light. The officers pulled Boyea over, and as they approached the car, police say he drove off down Hempstead Boulevard.

The officers gave chase. While trying to turn onto Henry Street, police say Boyea drove through the fence of a home and hit a parked car, which stopped him. He then got out and fled on foot, police say. After a brief chase, Boyea was captured and placed under arrest, according to police.
