Nassau Health Aide Stole From Elderly Woman She Cared For: Police
Police say the aide stole cash and clothes from the elderly woman, but was caught on video.
WESTBURY, NY — A Valley Stream woman was arrested Sunday after police say she was caught on video stealing from an elderly woman she was caring for.
According to police, Martha Saint-Amand, 58, of Fenwood Drive, Valley Stream, worked for an 82-year-old Westbury woman who suffered from medical conditions that required the need of a home health aide.
Police say Saint-Amand was caught on video taking a small box containing cash and putting it in her bag. She also took a dark winter coat and other items and placed them in her bag, police said. She then went into a closet, took out a red sweater and put it on before she left, police said.
