Nassau Man Charged In Suffolk Hit-And-Run: Police

Police say the driver struck a motorcyclist and sent him flying into another lane of traffic, where he was hit by a second car.

A Westbury man was charged in connection with a hit-and-run that occurred in North Bay Shore on April 27 which seriously injured a motorcycle driver.

According to Suffolk police, James Antonelli, 63, of Bay Shore, was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Pine Aire Drive just after 10:45 p.m. when he was struck by a car pulling out of a 7-Eleven parking lot. Police say he was thrown from his motorcycle into the westbound lane of traffic, where he was hit by a 2004 Mercury sedan being driven by a 54-year-old woman.

The first car fled the scene. The woman remained at the scene, and Antonelli was taken to Southside Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

On April 28, Suffolk County police, arrested Oswin Bravo, 61, of Westbury, in connection with the incident. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in First District Court in Central Islip.
