Nassau County police report multiple vehicular assault and license-related charges, and say the vehicle was impounded for safety checks following the Friday night crash.

Plainview woman pleads guilty to deadly drug-fueled East Meadow crash (longislandpress.com) — A Plainview driver has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and related charges for a 2025 methamphetamine-fueled crash on Carman Avenue in East Meadow that killed 55-year-old Steven Diamond and injured two others. She ran a red light at Salisbury Park Drive, struck another car, and now faces a potential four to twelve years in prison at sentencing in December.
   

3. Police: Homeless Man Arrested After Attacking Laundromat Employee, Injuries Two NCPD Officers (longisland.com) — Police say a homeless man was arrested after forcing his way into Rapid 2 Laundromat on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow, shoving an employee and stealing soap before being taken into custody. While later at a hospital, he allegedly became combative and injured two Nassau County officers; he now faces burglary and assault charges and arraignment in Hempstead.
   

4. Young Islanders threaten veterans for roster spot with impressive showing (nypost.com) — Young New York Islanders prospects are turning heads at training camp held at Northwell Health Ice Center in East Meadow, pushing veterans for roster spots. Forward Victor Eklund and goal-scorer Cole Eiserman especially impressed coaches, suggesting East Meadow fans could be watching the early rise of the team's next wave of contributors.
