East Meadow community vows to 'Never Forget' (liherald.com) — East Meadow residents and first responders recently gathered for the 25th anniversary 9/11 remembrance walk and ceremony, marching from fire headquarters to Veterans Memorial Park. The community honored seven locals lost in the attacks and responders later sickened by ground zero toxins, reaffirming their promise to remember their names, stories, and sacrifices every year.
   

2. Plainview Woman Pleads Guilty to Fatal Drug-Fueled Crash (lilifepolitics.com) — A Plainview driver has pleaded guilty after a meth-fueled crash in East Meadow killed 55-year-old Steven Diamond and injured two others at Carman Avenue and Salisbury Park Drive. The victim was pronounced dead at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, and the driver now faces four to 12 years in prison when sentenced in December.
   

3. Drugged Driver Strikes Bicyclist In Five Towns: Police (dailyvoice.com) — An East Meadow man has been charged after police say his Subaru struck a bicyclist in Inwood, leaving the rider in critical condition near Nassau Expressway and Burnside Avenue. The 51-year-old faces multiple vehicular assault, impaired driving, and aggravated unlicensed operation counts, with arraignment scheduled in First District Court in Hempstead.
   

4. Pete DeBoer is running his first Islanders training camp with an iron fist (nypost.com) — Islanders training camp is underway at Northwell Health Ice Center in East Meadow, where new head coach Pete DeBoer is rapidly installing a defense-first system. With limited time before preseason games, players are focused on structure, positioning, and quick puck movement as they adjust to his straightforward, detail-heavy style.
