Woman Arrested Trying to Sneak Drugs into Nassau County Jail: Sheriff

BREAKING: The woman was allegedly trying to smuggle in drugs, including heroin and crack cocaine, inside her underwear.

A woman was arrested after she tried to sneak drugs into the Nassau County Jail Wednesday, Nassau Sheriff Michael Sposato said.

According to Sposato, based on information obtained by the jail's security staff, members of the sheriff's K-9 unit intercepted a woman who was entering the jail after the dog smelled narcotics on her.

The woman was searched and the sheriff said drugs were discovered hidden in her underwear "packaged in a manner consistent with drug smuggling activities." The sheriff said drugs were also found in the woman's car.
