Woman Drove Drunk With Her Young Kids In Car: Police

Police say she was driving erratically and nearly struck a state trooper's cruiser.

A Woodbury woman was arrested by state police on the Southern State Parkway Tuesday after police say she was found to be driving drunk with two children in the car.

According to state police, a trooper was on patrol on the Meadowbrook State Parkway when he saw Jacquelyn A. Morgan, 28, of Jericho Turnpike, driving erratically. Police say she was drifting in and out of her lane and nearly struck the trooper's cruiser.

The trooper followed her and pulled her over on the eastbound Southern State. the trooper determined that Morgan was driving drunk with a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old child in the car. The children were released to the custody of their father.

Morgan was charged with aggravated DWI (Leandra's Law), Unlawful possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a child.
