Woman Had Dead Dog In Plastic Bin In Her Backyard: Nassau SPCA

Officials say they found a second dog that was extremely emaciated, and took it from the home to get medical care.

A Uniondale woman was arrested on Monday and charged with torturing animals after investigators found a dead dog at her home.

According to the Nassau County SPCA, detectives visited a home in Uniondale on Oct. 16. While there, the SPCA says the detectives found a dead dog in a plastic container in the backyard, and another dog that was found to be extremely emaciated. The living dog was removed for medical evaluation, and the dead dog was taken for necropsy, the SPCA said.

After an investigation, SPCA detectives arrested Chontrelle Stroman, 35, on Monday for torturing or injuring animals/failure to provide sustenance.

Stroman is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead today.
