Main Street Italian Eatery Of Farmingdale Closes; Restaurant Coming
The pizzeria and its event space have shuttered, but another Italian restaurant is on the way.

FARMINGDALE, NY — Main Street Italian Eatery and its event venue, Main Street Social, have closed, the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce said.
The windows of the restaurant, at 302 Main St., Farmingdale, are covered.
The space was purchased by the owner of Stellina in Oyster Bay, who plans to open an Italian restaurant, Joe Garcia, president of the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, told Patch.

Stellina or Main Street Italian Eatery did not respond to Patch's request for comment.
Main Street Italian Eatery opened as Main Street Pizza Company in Farmingdale in October 2019.

The coronavirus pandemic hit the following year, throwing everyone — business owners included — a curveball. The pizzeria debuted the "Bored Game" pizza box, its take on the classic Monopoly board game in versions geared toward kids or adults (the 21-and-over edition doubled as a drinking game), the business wrote in a 2022 post on Patch.
During the pandemic, the staff of Main Street Pizza Company visited Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, in Montauk, bringing him the "Bored Game" pizza box and some pies.
When COVID-19 restrictions loosened and people could dine out again, Main Street Italian Eatery joined forces with a local entertainment company, which would come to the restaurant, decorate and provide entertainment to all of the diners. This part of the venue became known as Main Street Social.
That half of the business evolved into a holiday pop up entertainment restaurant. Themes included a Halloween Pop-up with a Hocus Pocus focus; Christmas Club Wonderland Pop-Up; Easter; and Valentine’s Day.
