2 Men Arrested In Spree Of Catalytic Converter Burglaries: Police

Geordan Campbell and Tevin Reid are charged with grand larceny and criminal mischief, police say.

ELMONT, NY — Two men were taken into custody on Sunday morning in Elmont for stealing catalytic converters from vehicles, police said.

Officers responded to a call on Clement Avenue for two men, 19 and 20, who attempted to use a saw to remove catalytic converters from several cars, police said.

An investigation led to the arrests of Geordan Campbell, 19, of Manhattan, and Tevin Reid, 20, of The Bronx, in connection to stealing numerous catalytic converters on Hunnewell Avenue and Louis Avenue from 5 a.m. to 8:25 a.m., detectives said.

They were arrested without incident.

Both men face charges that include grand larceny and criminal mischief. They were expected to be arraigned on Monday, according to police.
