Application Filed To Cleanup Contaminated Long Island Location

Public comments are sought until next month about the former Barrows Chemical Site in Inwood.

INWOOD, NY —The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has received an application for a Brownfield Cleanup at the Barrows Chemical Site in Inwood.

The site is located on Prospect Street.

The public can leave comments with site project manager John Sheehan at john.sheehan@dec.ny.gov or by calling 631-444-2444.

All responses must be submitted by Feb. 25.

The Brownfield Cleanup Program is designed to encourage redevelopment as a means to revitalize economically blighted communities and contaminated land.
