Chabad of Hewlett dedicated a "Thank You Shabbat" for Israel

Many people joined the Chabad of Hewlett “Thank You Services” on Saturday morning. Services included honoring people who served in the IDF or helped in any way to the security of Israel, words of appreciation to the supporters of Israel, memorial service, prayer for the wounded, and followed by Shabbat lunch where uplifting stories and thoughts were shared.
“Many people are asking me what do I say about the situation in Israel” Said Rabbi Tenenboim “What can I say? what else can I say that wasn’t said already, about this terrorist attacks against our brothers and sisters in israel. But then i realized that although our hearts ache with great sorrow and anxiety, we should try to direct it to a more positive reaction, so we called the community to come and say a Thank you!”
The services opened with a “memorial service” for the fallen soldiers, and special prayer for a speedily recovery of those wounded, Rabbi Tenenboim mentioned them each by name, which some he know personally, and extended prayer for everlasting peace.
While the traditional honor of blessing of the Torah was given to those who have served in the Israeli army, the list of thankfulness was long,
Thanks was given to G-d for many miracles, to the young and brave soldiers including some Americans who have left their home and families just to protect Israel, to the many famous and ordinary Americans who speak out in great support during one of Israel’s most difficult time.
Rabbi Tenenboim reflected on the fact that in these days of social media everyone can really make a big difference and speak out. Everyone was encouraged to dedicate Mitzvot and good deeds as a spiritual support, to send packages and donations or just a few encouraging words to israel.

The services followed by a full Shabbat lunch when some uplifting stories and thoughts ware sherd and concluded with a prayer for real peace.
