Cops: Car Struck Man on Rockaway Turnpike
Incident happened Tuesday night in the Five Towns, police said.

A man is in stable condition after he was struck by a car in Lawrence Tuesday night, according to Nassau County Police.
The 19-year-old victim was walking across Rockaway Turnpike at 9:15 p.m. when he was struck by a car, police said. He was brought to a nearby hospital after suffering head trauma and leg fractures, cops said.
The 55-year-old driver of the car, a 2011 Kia sedan, is not suspected of any criminality, police said. He submitted to a breathalyzer test at the scene and was deemed not intoxicated. Both the driver and his passenger were uninjured in the collision, cops said.
