Customs Seizes $65G in Counterfeit Cash at JFK
Discovery was made Saturday, officials said.

Customs and Border Protection officers discovered more than $65,000 in counterfeit bills at John F. Kennedy Airport Saturday, officials said.
A total of 652 counterfeit $100 bills were discovered inside place mats and a shoe bag that had arrived on a flight from Ecuador, CBP officials said.
The discovery was made at JFK Airport’s express cargo facility, officials said.

“Every day CBP officers are protecting the American public from various dangers,” Robert E. Perez, Director of CBP’s New York Field Operations, said in a statement Tuesday. “This seizure is a testament to the dedication our Officers demonstrate daily in support of CBP’s mission.”

Officials have not made any arrests yet in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
