Driver Killed, 3 Hospitalized in Nassau Car Crash
A 20-year-old man died after a car struck a tree Sunday night, police said.

HEWLETT, NY - A 20-year-old man was killed and three other people were injured when a car struck a tree in Hewlett Sunday night, police said.
According to police, Carlos Salazar, of Hewlett, was driving his 2005 Honda north on Peninsula Boulevard at Avon Road when it left the roadway and hit a tree at about 9:52 p.m.
Salazar was pronounced dead at scene. Three passengers–two men and a woman–were transported to a local hospital for "trauma services," police said.
The car was impounded from the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
