Long Island Woman Drove 105 MPH on Vermont Highway: Police

The 29-year-old was arrested on Saturday.

A Long Island woman was arrested in Vermont Saturday for driving 105 mph, Vermont State Police said.

Police stopped a vehicle being driven by 29-year-old Jennifer Banegas, of Long Beach, around 11:13 a.m. on Interstate 89 in Bethel, police said.

The speed limit on the interstate is 65 mph.

Banegas was cited for excessive speed and released with a citation to appear in Windsor County Superior Court on March 28.
