Knife-Wielding Nassau Serial Robber Strikes Again

The latest robbery occurred Tuesday night at a Carvel, police say.

VALLEY STREAM, NY - A Valley Stream ice cream shop was robbed at knifepoint on Tuesday night by a man police believe is responsible for at least eight other recent robberies in Nassau County, police said.

The robber entered the Carvel located at 1551 Dutch Broadway armed with 6 -nch knife at about 9:33 p.m.

He then walked around the counter, demanded the employee open the register and took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing eastbound on Dutch Broadway.

The employee was alone in the store at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.

The robber was described as 6-feet tall, and was wearing a black hooded shirt, jeans, tan work boots, black gloves and dark glasses, police said.

The man is suspected to be connected to a total of nine robberies across Nassau County in March and April.

In addition to the Carvel in Valley Stream, he is suspected to have robbed the following stores:

Police released surveillance footage of the suspected robber on Tuesday.

According to authorities, the man typically enters stores, produces a large knife, demands cash and flees on foot. The man has been known to wait inside the business until there are no customers present before he commits the robbery, police say.
