Man Taken Into Custody For Having Illegal Firearm: Nassau Police
The 19-year-old man was stopped in a parking lot when police discovered the weapon in his vehicle during a routine patrol, detectives say.

NORTH WOODMERE, NY — A Valley Strean man was taken into custody after officers discovered a fiream in his vehicle, Nassau County police said.
Police approached the vehicle on Sunday night in a parking lot at Doxey Brook Park in North Woodmere. They recovered a Sig Sauer 9 mm handgun, police said.
Matthew David Sheinin, 19, was placed under arrest without incident, detectives said.

Sheinin, who is scheduled for arraignment on Monday, faces charges of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.
