Naked, Blood-Covered Man Dies After Fight With Officers
The man stopped breathing after officers were finally able to subdue him and place handcuffs on him. The death is being investigated.

An Inwood man died in police custody over the weekend after officers were called to his house early Saturday morning for a disturbance.
Police identified the man as Walter Perez, 36, of Doughty Boulevard, Inwood. Police were called to the house around 2 a.m. on Saturday for a disturbance. According to Newday, when police arrived they found Perez naked and covered in his own blood. He threatened police officers with an unidentified weapon, and struggled with police. Newsday reported that it took two shots from police Tasers to subdue Perez.
However, an hour after he was placed into custody, Perez died. News12 reported that he stopped breathing after he was handcuffed. Police removed the handcuffs and administered CPR, but Perez couldn't be revived.

The state attorney general's office is investigating the death, since it happened while Perez was in police custody. According to Newsday, an autopsy was completed over the weekend, but the cause of death couldn't be determined.
