Nassau Police Arrest Alleged Bank Robber

Police have been searching for him since they say he robbed a bank in August.

Nassau police arrested an Atlantic Beach man on Wednesday and charged him with a bank robbery that took place in Woodmere in August.

According to police, Lon Diamond, 42, of Ithaca Avenue, entered the Chase Bank at 1000 Railroad Avenue on the morning of Aug. 16, handed the teller a demand note, and then fled the bank with cash.

An investigation led police to Diamond. He is charged with third-degree robbery. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
