Nassau Teacher Accused Of Sexually Abusing 5 Children

Police say an investigation began when complaints were received by an upstate summer camp where he was a counselor for 33 years.

A Nassau County teacher arrested on Wednesday is accused of sexual abuse after complaints were made at an upstate summer camp where he worked for more than three decades.

Dylan T. Stolz, 51, of Little Neck, was arrested by state police Wednesday and charged with five counts of first-degree sexual abuse. Police say there were five victims that were all under the age of 11, according to an NBC 4 report.

Police say the investigation into Stolz began on June 28, when officials at the Brant Lake Camp in Brant Lake received complaints about Stolz. He had been a counselor at the all-boys camp for the past 33 years.

Stolz is a fourth grade teacher at Ogden Elementary School in the Hewlett-Woodmere School District.

Brant Lake Camp officials said they recently fired Stolz after they became aware of allegations of inappropriate touching, the Wall Street Journal reported. The camp notified police on June 28.

According to Newsday, the Hewlett-Woodmere district has placed Stolz on administrative reassignment.

Stolz, who made $127,873 as a teacher in 2017 according to state records, was arraigned in Glens Falls Court and remanded to the Warren County Jail after he couldn't make his bail.
