Nassau Woman Involved In Crash While Drunk, Careened Into Building: Police
BREAKING: Police say she injured another driver and shut down the areas for hours.

A woman from West Hempstead was arrested Wednesday morning after she drove drunk into another car and a building, shutting down a road during rush hour, police said.
According to Nassau police, Shannon Johnson, 24, of Melvin Avenue, was driving north east on Sheridan Boulevard in Inwood in a 2017 Ford Fiesta when she drove through a red light and hit a 2001 Lincoln Navigator heading east on Bayview Avenue. Johnson then went into the front steps of Las Gemelas 1 Restaurant, located at 112 Sheridan Boulevard.
Police say that an investigation determined Johnson was driving drunk. Both she and the driver of the car she hit, an 18-year-old man, were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
