Police Searching For Armed Man Who Robbed Nassau Gas Station

BREAKING: The man asked the clerk to break a five to get her to open the register. Then he emptied it out.

Nassau Police are searching for a man who robbed a Valley Stream gas station at gunpoint Thursday night.

According to police, a man entered the convenience store of the Exxon located at 206 North Central Avenue, approached the clerk and asked for change of a five dollar bill. After opening the register and looking back up, the clerk saw the man was now pointing a black handgun at her. He then reached into the register, removed the cash and fled.

The robber was a white man of average height and build, in his mid to late 30's, with scruffy brown facial hair. He was wearing a black knit hat, a black long-sleeved T-shirt, blue jeans and light colored sneakers.
