Second Teen Arrested For Street Robberies: Police

Police say he nabbed purses and cash from peoples' hands and then fled.

UPDATE: Police have also arrested 18-year-old Yonathan Arreaga in connection with the robberies. Arreaga, of Inwood, is charged with first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree robbery and attempted second-degree robbery. He was arraigned on Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.

ORIGINAL STORY: A Queens teenager was arrested by Nassau police on Thursday and charged with multiple robberies that occurred in Inwood in December.

According to police, Kevin Moran, 16, of Beach 25th Street in Far Rockaway, was responsible for three pedestrian robberies:

  • Dec. 9 — Stole a purse in the parking lot across from 107 Doughty Blvd. at 1:30 p.m.
  • Dec. 10 — Stole cash from a person on Grand Central Place at 10:05 a.m.
  • Dec. 10 — Attempted to steal from a person on Grand Central Place at 12:05 p.m.

Moran is charged with first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree robbery and second-degree attempted robbery. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
